A book study package based on Running with the Horses by Alison Lester. Created for the primary classroom (grade 3-5), this set of worksheets includes vocabulary, quizzes, crosswords, information text, book cover analysis, visual literacy and a grammar activity.

Students participate in research on “People with Purpose” - individuals who have shaped communities, societies, countries and the world. A template is included for Mother Teresa, Isaac Newton, Johannes Gutenberg, Marie Curie, Florence Nightingale, Tim Berners-Lee and others.

This unit takes students on a journey back in time, as they discover that houses have stories to tell. Students use the historical inquiry questions - who, what, when, why, how, and where, to better understand times and cultures of various times in history. Although based on Historical Sites in South Australia, the unit can be adapted to any place in the world. After extensive study of local history, students write their own historical narratives, relating significance of life in those times.
